"EXPLORATEURS"
Rites of passage from a story never told...
This series is an exploration of the connections between mythology, personal history, the subconscious and imagination presented in the form of vignettes from a hypothetical "origin story".

In these paintings, I have made reference to archetypical stories and themes I experienced during childhood (Adam & Eve, Pocahontas & John Smith, "Where the Wild Things Are", etc.) and artists that have influenced me (N.C. Wyeth, Gauguin, Jacques-Louis David and others) as well as religious iconography.
